BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING
Community Café

The Community cafe is a commercial project run by volunteers and is based within Sefton Community Learning Service at 53 Cambridge Road in Seaforth.
At the cafe we have a colllection tub for the local community to donate food towards our ongoing hampers and we have a community fridge and freezer which is for the community to donate food into and also help themselves to in times of need. We only ask that those who are recieving food from here need to be considerate of others and restrict what they take to a maximum of 10 items per family and only 1 of each of the type of items. This is to ensure that every visitor has the same opportunity.
We are very grateful for all donations recieved that allow us to provide this important support for children and families in need. Please see our Facebook page for the latest list and examples of what we are in need of the most.
A chilren's healthy cookery class, which is provided by 'Good Grub Club' teahces children how to learn to cook from scratch and we can accomodate up to 20 children each month.
We also run a knit and natter group for those who are either wanting to learn new skils or who are confident knitters and crocheters. Our members either knit their own projects or produce small cuddlies to be given out to vulnerable chrildren in our community during the Christams and Easter celebrations.
The cafe offers free bacon butties and hot drinks to serving emergency service personnel whilst on duty in our community. We host a monthly breakfast for former pupils of Waterloo Grammer School who our building once belonged to and enjoy the company of many of the "Old boys" and their tales of school days.
Very soon, we are hoping to host monthly eterans breakfast get-togethers for serving and veterans or the armed services.
The cafe has a free "little library" which is well used by people in our community and are always glad of donations of books to help us to continue this.
Oiur current opening hours of the cafe are Monday to Thursday from 9:30AM to 2:00PM and is open to the general public as well as those studying in the building. Donations can be dropped directly to us there or can still go to ADM as per the original info.
We also accept cash and gift vouchers/cards that can be used for the purchasing of food, hygiene items and clothes.
If you are looking to find directions to the cafe, then please see the Google map below:
How to Donate
Donations can be dropped directly to us at the cafe which is detailed on the map above. We are also still accepting donations to another collection point at ADM Meats Please see the following Google Map location of ADM Meats to assist with finding this alternative drop off point.
We appreciate that many donors will have items that are "good as new" however, we are governed by food hygiene regulations and therefore are prevented from storing used items with the food we distribute, regardless of condition. This is even more important during the times we are currently living in with Covid-19. Thank you for your support!
